It is officially spring, as of this afternoon. But, I am ready for the weather to match the season. Today was sort of spring like where I live. I worked in the flower bed for a bit and raked up leaves and pulled dead plants. The squirrels were happy with my efforts as later when I went back outside, there were zillions of holes where they had been digging up their winter stores.
The weather outside hasn’t fully sprung to my liking just yet. I also think my soul hasn’t quite made it to spring yet either. Spring is a time for new growth and a freshness to life. I think my soul is still in the dark of winter, the hibernation mode of waiting in the dark for the growth to begin.
I love the meme posted to the right. I think I am in Mud Season. There have been some stop and go moments of spring but winter seemed to return. There are times that I feel like things are a bit of a slog, like walking in mud, mainly because I do not yet have a well established routine for what I am doing. There are moments that feel frenetic and others that I feel like I just want to go back to bed.
Where is your soul? What season are you in spiritually? None of them are bad or wrong, nor do they necessarily coincide with the actual seasons. We also need all the various seasons for our souls. We need time to hibernate in the winter as well as new life and later a harvest. Take a moment, find the season of your soul.
