Being like a seed

The Gospel of John (12:24) has Jesus talking about a kernel of wheat. “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.”

Seeds, if not planted won’t do much but stay as a seed. When seeds are planted, the outer shell falls away and roots begin to form as well as the sprout. Before the sprout breaks forth from the ground, there has been much growth in secret.

We are like seeds. We must turn inward to reflect before we can break out of old patterns and die to an old state of being and begin to sprout as well. Let God plant you where you should be. Let God nurture and tend to you that you may grow into something new and strong and beautiful!
