Faith in the Cracks

Friday, January 13th
After 8 1/2 years as an associate pastor, I left the church I had served to launch into something new. Having spent the past few days grieving the departure from a congregation I dearly love, I am beginning something different. The mainline church has long been in decline and the pandemic sped things up. That was part of my sense to leave, the church could no longer afford two full time pastors, but also, I want to be more available for my family and I want to live into something that has tugged at me for a long time.

I spent my sabbatical working on manuscripts for children’s books about God and I want to develop those ideas further and find publishing avenues for them as well. I am also wanting to reach out into the technological sphere as I feel like many people are not returning to church buildings, but I don’t think many of them are abandoning faith altogether.

So this is a venture into the world of digital faith formation. I have much to figure out, particularly in getting started. I hope you will join me on this journey and while you are here, continue your own journey of faith too.
