As I posted a few weeks ago, my dad died. Grief is hard work. There are days that feel numb. There are days of feeling sad. There are times of feeling somewhat normal. There are days of feeling lost and untethered. Each day, each hour, each moment is different. And in part, what makes the grief journey hard, in my opinion, is that the world goes on.
Are there people who continue to grieve at the loss of a loved one all around me? Yes.
Are there people who continue to be sad at the loss of my dad? Yes.
Are there people who are grieving people and situations that I will never know? Yes.
Are there people grieving for the world? Yes.
Grief makes for a heavy lift. Yet we will all experience it in our lives. Everyone we know will experience it. And we will all experience it in different ways. Be kind and gentle with yourself. Be kind and gentle with others.
