Thoughts

  • If you have listened to my podcast, then you know this news. I published a book! I did the self publishing route, so I paid money to Archway (part of Simon and Schuster) and they helped edit and did the illustrations, well, except the cover art – that was my daughter. The book is about

  • Rewriting the tapes

We all have tapes that play in our heads. When life happens, there are scripts that we play over and over. Sometimes they are positive and sometimes they are negative. For me the tape is often about not being enough. So if I work harder, do better, be more perfect, do more stuff – then

  • So much sadness

The news brings so much sadness. The implosion of the Titan submersible. Several recent, senseless shooting incidents, the ongoing war in The Ukraine and the on going issues of government are only the tip of the iceberg it seems. It is difficult to not let the news harden us to the plight of others. I

  • Truth be told…

The media circus that is surrounding Trump is not where I choose to focus much attention. I have not read the indictments, nor will I. I have heard/seen the outlined list. For me the bottom line is that one of these things is not like the other… Who had classified documents? Biden, Pence and Trump

  • Choose Joy

My kids had their last day of school today. This week the yearbook came home with them. The theme was “Choose Joy.” One of the books is sitting on the table near my computer as I type. The word joy is full of pictures of smiling students and faculty. I find it is a good

  • “We give our thanks, Creator God, for the mothers in our lives. Mothering is not for the faint of heart. We remember you and honor you.  We remember all those women who have been our mothers, whether biological or spiritual, by blood or by choice, who have nurtured us in faith and in life.  We

  • Yesterday I received three no’s in different parts of my life. One was second hand regarding a job, the others were thanks but no thanks from publishers about 2 different children’s books. It felt like “3 strikes and you are out.” I spent some time wallowing in some self pity and self doubt, well, I

One response to “Thoughts”

  1. I admire your willingness to trust God, and venture out into a relatively unknown future. As someone who completely changed careers at age 53, I encourage you to continue to seek guidance from the Spirit and go for it wholeheartedly! Your new career is much more nebulous than mine, but I have every confidence that your talent and determination will pull you through the most difficult times. I knew when it was time for me to change. God will also lead you through each new step. It’s been my experience that He/She/They moves quickly and decisively. Enjoy the ride. I cannot wait to see what you will do.
